Struggle is Real, but so is God

Thinking of all the tasks that I have to finish, all the rules that I have to follow, all the people I have to deal with and all the stress that I have to handle, I already know that this is not going to be an easy year for me. I know and I already prayed that this will be another fruitful and blessed time not just for me but for all the people around me, yet hardships push me down and I felt like it won’t stop until it drowns me to the deep ocean of insecurities and intimidation. The talk last Friday was a refreshment for me because in reality, at the end of the day, no matter what I do, I will still and still come back to God. I do believe there are giants in our lives that we cannot prevent from coming but we can make a mighty shield through God’s word. I have to keep in mind that I will get through this because I can and nothing is impossible with God. My giants may be big but I have a bigger God who can be my mighty shield in times of despair and anxiety. I was reminded that God is always with me and no matter how bad the day is, it is just a bad day, not a bad life.

The huddle time came and I realized that all of us are pretenders. Pretending to be happy, to be okay but deep inside we seemed to have a broken soul, a wounded heart that is waiting to be mended. I never knew some of my classmates have big problems and it’s an eye opener that we have to help each other get up and continue running the race because we are one family. With the four years of seeing each other’s faces all the time, there are persons behind those personas.

No matter how hard life is, just remember that you are not alone, you have beautiful creations around you and most of all, you have a God that is the same yesterday, tomorrow and forever.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a bright future.” –Jeremiah 29:11
