It was not a matter of what you achieve, rather how you achieved it.
This sums up the lesson that I got from the whole experience. From the making of the living gallery to teaming up in order to be triumphant in something that you do. I’ve gone through a tough time but it should not be an excuse for me to go on.
The English Fest 2017 is a success. As a student/ participant in the said event, I’ve witnessed how the faculty and the club made a big effort to change some competitions and replace it with new extravagant one. Most of the students were surely amazed by the changes and perhaps, they want to continue it for the coming years. From the grand parade to the living gallery, film showing, individual and group contests, symposium and to the Gods and Goddesses, it was really worth the time.
But aside from these events, the highlight of it is our victory. The feeling of holding the title for two consecutive years is already an honor. We sacrificed a lot of time, effort, strength and energy for this that why maybe, our prayers were answered. But in a team, everyone must function because the loss of one can be the loss of all. This is one of the lessons that I learned from the experience.
Honestly, we had a hard time building the living gallery and this will always be the most painful memory of my high school life. Everything we planned went down crashing, everything we expected was not fulfilled. We did not just failed on something but we also failed someone.
The living gallery looked good but what matters more is how we did it. We should’ve followed what we’ve planned, we should’ve wasted no time. We were given a lot of time to do it but still we crammed for the last time. This is another thing that made a part of me grow.
Another realization hit me. Everyday when I come to school and submit requirements, do teachers know how I did it? Do they know how I finished it? Probably no and most of the time a student’s mindset focuses more on the importance of compliance. The reality is, it is our hard work that reflects on whatever we do but sadly nobody sees it.
Despite the reality, we should always consider how we achieved something. Because even though not everyone can see it, we know it in ourselves that we are victorious for our deeds.
